Many rumours concerning glycol propylene have surfaced on the internet and television concerning the toxicity of this component.

Glycol propylene is used in the composition of the electronic re-fills of the cigarettes.  Thus, glycol propylene is not directly present in the electronic cigarette but in the cartridges for the re-fills.

First of all, it is important to know that glycol propylene is used in the agribusiness, cosmetic, and pharmaceutical industries. It is also inhaled in nightclubs and concerts during the pyrotechnical shows.  The artificial fog is nothing less than glycol propylene, and nobody has ever told children to stay away!

This component is thus completely neutral with respect to health. On the other hand, tobacco, nicotine and traditional cigarettes have been known to be dangerous since the 1970’s.
